Citizens' Alliance for Property Rights was organized in 2003 as a non-partisan political action committee where individual citizens and existing organizations can work together defending property rights.

We believe in protecting property rights by supporting legislators pledged to protect, not destroy, property rights and electing judges pledged to uphold our constitutionally guaranteed right to own and control property; and by promoting legislation to preserve and protect property rights while opposing excessively burdensome legislation.

Justice Richard B. Sanders is a judge committed to protecting constitutional rights. He knows that the Washington constitution states that no private property shall be taken or damaged for public or private use without just compensation having been first made, and has said that "Judges should not be neutral about constitutional rights."

He has also said, "If sacrifice of the legal rights of individuals is the price we must pay to make the system work, that price is too high."

In our current efforts to hold government responsible for maintaining the freedoms promised us, we feel that we have a champion in a Washington Supreme Court Justice who can say, ... a public entity has a higher responsibility than a private entity because the public entity is there to serve the public interest, generally. A public entity, according to the Washington State Constitution, Art. I, § 1, is established to protect and maintain individual rights."
